My next car...

Postby Andre » Fri Apr 10, 2009 3:32 pm

There are a couple in the Trader with very very low km's for 30G's...

This is with stock heads and a stock drivetrain (converter, gears, etc...)

Livernois Stage 1 G8 GT goes 12.4 @ 117 mph

Who needs the new Camaro? This car offers way more, for way less money and the convenience of 4 doors with roughly the same curb weight...

Beautiful cars.

You can get a fully loaded brand new one right now for $36k. They have a $6.5k discount, or did a couple weeks ago when I was looking at them.

A great deal on a nice car.

Are you going to mod it Andre or look at the G8 GXP? Stock the GT are similar to Dales Magnum RT in performance/weight/price. They had a good comparo in motor trend of the GT vs Charger RT

The GT offers way better bang for the buck than the GXP... not to mention that we can't get a GXP in Canada and bringing one in from the States is a serious PITA...

I will be doing something simmilar to the Livernois Stage 1 kit... the car in the link I posted went 117MPH with stock heads and a pretty docile cam with cats and full exhaust... I expect to see 120MPH with ported stock castings and with a mild converter (3200) and some DR's it's a solid 11 second car that is mild enough to be a DD...

I am VERY impressed with the overall ride quality of the car along with the fit and finnish...

There is no comparison in the LSx vs modern Hemi aftermarket...

The drivetrain on the G8's are bullet proof as well... very solid overall package...

Stock car with boltons and tune... nice shift @ 40MPH!

New Era Intake, Catback: x-pipe with magnaflow mufflers and some HPTuner work. no T/M = traction issues :)

Have you looked at the HEMI aftermarket lately?

Procharger, Whipple, Kenne Bell, Vortech are all running on Lx platform cars.

HCI LX's are running 120mph, bolt ons. Guys with bone stock internals, converter, halfshafts, catbacks and programming running 12.20s on stock manifolds. 400cfm out of stock SRT8 heads ported....(RT heads making 340plus cfm)

There are tons of stuff out there now including 8.8 diff swaps, challenger diff swaps etc.

I am not saying the HEMI is better but I would say they are both great platforms...

From appearance only, the G8's destroy the bloated grandpa taxi-cabs from Chrysler

I think it would be a lot cheaper to mod a LSX as well, given the market is already there

Exactly... not to mention the G8's can be had for 30G's... overall the G8 is a much better/nicer car...

The car that went 117MPH had stock heads with a cam and boltons... the G8 drivetrains are really bullet proof...
